Cyber attack on five servers of AIIMS
According to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), five servers of AIIMS were infiltrated in a cyber attack on November 23, resulting in encryption of about 1.3 gigabytes of data. Delhi Police’s Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit has registered a case of extortion and cyber terrorism. AIIMS immediately implemented security measures that included endpoint hardening and stringent firewall rules to protect the institute’s data.

Iran’s Shahad drone shot down during multiple explosions in Kyiv
Three explosions damaged two administrative buildings in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on 14 December. The inscription on the back of one of the recovered rockets read: “For Ryazan” which is the name of a city in western Russia. Ukraine’s air defense systems shot down 10 Iranian-made kamikaze ‘Shahid-136 drones’ that targeted the capital Kyiv on the same day.

Newly elected MLAs of Himachal Pradesh will take oath
The newly elected legislators of Himachal Pradesh will take oath on December 22, the first day of the three-day winter session of the state assembly. This will be the first session of the 14th Vidhansabha. The Speaker’s election will be held on December 23, after which the Governor’s address will be held. Six-time MLA and former Lok Sabha member Chander Kumar was named pro tem speaker. Apart from acting as the Speaker till the new Speaker is elected, Chander Kumar will also administer the oath to the newly elected MLAs.
India tests nuclear capable ballistic missile
India successfully test fired ballistic missile Agni 5. The nuclear-capable Agni-5 ballistic missile can hit targets more than 5,000 km away with precision. The missile launch came days after the Chinese aggression in the Tawang region of Arunachal Pradesh.
