From ‘Garib Kalyan’ to air strike: This is the journey of ‘New India’

As the country is gearing up to celebrate its 75th year of independence, Prime Minister Narendra Modi a few days back had called upon the people to make the next 25 years, i.e. when India will enter the centenary of independence, glorious with new Threshold, aspirations and dreams and resolve to build a strong, prosperous and self-reliant nation. Indians are reaping the fruits of the planned and determined efforts made by the Modi government in the last few years to build a strong, prosperous and self-reliant India. The journey to India in the last 8 years has been amazing. From ensuring that the poor and downtrodden get benefits from various government schemes and thereby bringing them into the mainstream of development, to conducting air strikes and thereby helping the forces trying to create unrest in India improve their methods and We are warned not to weaken. Country. And so because of all this, it is believed that India will emerge as a truly self-reliant, prosperous and self-reliant nation. This is nothing but an overview of what the Modi government has done in the last 8 years….

Let us remember the days before the Modi government came to power in 2014. Pakistan-backed terrorism was at its peak and during the period from 2004 to 2014, terrorist attacks were rampant. During this decade, there were bombings in many places and thousands of bombs exploded. Innocents lost their lives. Also, the terrorist attack on 26 November 2008 in Mumbai by a handful of Pakistani terrorists clearly underlined how deep the roots of terrorism are in our country. The terrorist attacks had increased to such an extent that even if any government system existed in the country, suspicion could have arisen. There were massive attacks and assaults by Pakistani forces along the Line of Control, in which Indian soldiers were killed and beheaded. During this time, the then Pakistani Prime Minister had dared to publicly humiliate the then Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. Even China did not miss the opportunity to infiltrate India. During the tenure of the United Progressive Alliance government led by Dr. Manmohan Singh, China grabbed 38,000 square kilometers of land from India. This fact was acknowledged by the United Progressive Alliance government in reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha. In response to a question asked by BJP MP YS Choudhary, the then Minister of State for External Affairs E. Ahmed admitted this. After the Modi government came to power, China’s infiltration was dealt with appropriately. In June 2020, when the Indian Army was attacked by Chinese forces in Ladakh, the latter retaliated in a similar manner. The Chinese army did not expect such resistance from the Indian soldiers. In fact, China had realized after the Doklam incident in Bhutan in 2017 that there would be major political changes in India after the Modi government came to power. The Indian Army had stopped the Chinese Red Army from participating in construction activities in the Doklam area of Bhutan. The surgical strikes of 2016 and Balakot air strikes of 2019 taught a good lesson to the Pakistani army and the government which was actively supporting terrorist activities in India.

The whole world was stunned to see this changed India which is continuously developing. India has never advocated aggression in the international arena. It has always maintained its tolerant attitude against invasion and infiltration by its neighboring countries. The Modi government gave a befitting reply in a language understandable to these neighboring countries and introduced a strong India to the world. Now the enemy nation will think 100 times before indulging in any such act.

The Modi government worked towards making the intelligence system strong and efficient by creating a security cover across the country thus curbing domestic terrorist activities. Except for three incidents of terror attacks between 2014 and 2022 i.e. during the tenure of Modi government- attack on Pathankot airbase on 2 January 2016, Uri attack in Kashmir in September 2016 and Pulwama attack in 2019, our security forces are engaged in activities of Pakistan sponsored terrorists. succeeded in controlling it. The Modi government was successful in creating an image of a strong and alert nation.

In the last eight years, the Modi government has taken some decisive steps to make India a prosperous and prosperous nation as well as protect the country from both internal and external threats. These efforts are slowly reaping the benefits. This is reflected in the record growth of the country’s exports. India’s exports in the month of June 2022 stood at $64.91 billion which was almost 23 per cent higher than in 2021. Through various government initiatives like Startup India, Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, the government tried to encourage youth and other entrepreneurs. Companies have to research, develop, manufacture and assemble products within India. The initiative also created a conducive environment for investment to help develop modern and efficient infrastructure and open up new areas for foreign investment.

A few years back, India had to import products to make toys. China accounts for the largest (80 per cent) share in toy imports. Due to the well-planned efforts of the Modi government, this import of toys decreased by about 70 percent while the export of toys made in India increased by 61 percent. The Indian toy market was largely dominated by cheap Chinese toys. This hegemony was broken by the effective implementation of the Make in India initiative. Today India’s toy exports have reached $326 billion in 2021-22.

At the same time, India’s export of agricultural products has reached a record high of $ 50 billion in 2021-22. These export figures are for the first ten months of the financial year i.e. from April 2021 to January 2022. India’s exports of agricultural products stood at $32.66 billion in the same period last year. Wheat exports have reached 70 lakh tonnes. India’s rice exports have reached 2.1 million tonnes in 2021-22, which is expected to reach 23 million tonnes in 2022-23. Simultaneously, the Kisan Railway started for faster transportation of agricultural commodities within the country is also gaining momentum. All these efforts are increasing the income of the farmers.

Modi government has launched many schemes like Ujjwala Yojana, Matru Vandana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Jan Aushadhi Project to provide quality generic medicines at affordable cost to all, Poshan Abhiyan and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Due to Jan Dhan Yojana, government subsidies were directly deposited into the bank accounts of the underprivileged and needy. So far, about 3.28 crore people have been benefited from this scheme through the Ayushman Bharat scheme launched to provide medical assistance to the poor and the underprivileged. In order to ensure that the underprivileged get benefits from this scheme, Ayushman cards have been distributed to more than 18 crore people. Also, about 8,694 prime

Mantri Janaushadhi Kendras have been started across the country to provide medicines at affordable rates to the poor.

To ensure that the poor do not die of hunger during the lockdown imposed to combat the corona pandemic, 5 kg of wheat, rice and pulses were distributed free of cost to over 80 crore people through the Garib Kalyan Yojana. Through this scheme, about 759 lakh metric tonnes of food grains were distributed to 80 crore beneficiaries in the country till March 2022. The Modi government has so far spent more than Rs 3 lakh crore on this scheme. During the lockdown, the businesses of various street vendors and small shopkeepers were closed for several months. The Modi government offered to help them for their working capital by giving them loans at low interest rates. More than 29 lakh people have availed the self-financing scheme. Sugarcane growing farmers have also benefited immensely by increasing the ethanol content in the fuel to 10 per cent. The Modi government has also strengthened the road infrastructure in the country by giving priority to the construction of expressways, national highways, roads and bridges.

In short, Modi government has been successful in laying the foundation of a prosperous, self-reliant and powerful India in the last 8 years. It cannot be claimed that the government has achieved all its objectives, but one can appreciate the fact that the nation is progressing slowly towards achieving the goal of becoming a prosperous nation. .
