fruit trader found dead

A fruit trader was murdered by unidentified persons on Monday in Tangutur village of Rangareddy district under Shankarpally police limits on the outskirts of the city.

Police have identified the victim as Erukali Shankar of Beeramguda. He was found covered in blood, his throat was slit and there were bruises on his face.

According to the information of the police, the incident is being told at around 7.30 am, when Shankar was going from his residence to Tangutur on his moped. Reportedly, he had taken on lease about seven acres of land in that village and was organizing a pomegranate orchard.

The police believe that the attackers used sharp weapons with the grievous injuries to the victim. Till Monday evening, the Shankarpally police had no clue regarding the incident or the suspects. Police have registered a case and are probing the murder.
