Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said he had an extensive discussion with BJP national president JP Nadda on the issue of reshuffle in his cabinet and further discussions will take place next week. Speaking to reporters before leaving for Bengaluru, Bommai said he held a meeting with Nadda on Wednesday on the matter.
“I had an extensive discussion on cabinet expansion. The party high command has got all the information. Nadda has said that further discussions will be taken during his visit to Karnataka for the state executive committee meeting of the party.”
“Naddaji also asked me to make all the preparations for the state executive committee meeting and discuss the preparations to face the next assembly elections,” the chief minister said. Bommai was in the national capital on a two-day visit to meet Union ministers and party leaders. After the recent assembly elections in five states, there is increasing pressure on the chief minister to expand or reshuffle his cabinet. Some legislators are further advocating a Gujarat-like overhaul of the Karnataka cabinet to make way for new faces. next year’s assembly elections
