Renowned sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik has created a magnificent sand sculpture of Lord Ganesha at Puri beach in Odisha on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Mr Patnaik shared pictures of his beautiful artwork on Twitter.

In his tweet, Patnaik said, “Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. My sand art of Lord Ganesha using 3,425 sand laddoos and some flowers at Puri beach in Odisha.”
The artwork has a beautiful idol of Lord Ganesha made of sand A type of sweet and embellished with flowers and two miniature elephants. Mr Patnaik also wrote “happy ganesh puja” with flowers.
The post has garnered over 6,000 likes and over 600 retweets in a matter of hours. Users can be seen wishing Ganesh Chaturthi and praising the artwork in the comment area.

The 10-day festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi, commemorates the birth of Lord Ganesha, the god of prosperity and wisdom. It begins on the fourth day (Chaturthi) of the sixth month of the Hindu calendar, Bhadrapada.
The idols of Lord Ganesha are set up on high platforms or in beautifully decorated tents at the beginning of the festival. Large processions accompanied by drums, devotional singing and dancing carry the idols to nearby waterways at the end of the festival and drown there.
Mr. Patnaik often posts pictures of his stunning sand creations that he creates at the Puri beach. Recently, on the occasion of Rakshabandhan, he made a big idol of Rakhi and shared the post on his Twitter. The post attracted thousands of users.
