Some of the demands raised by the RWA body include operation of illegal PG houses/hostels residential areaUnverified International students in sectors, Hotels/Dhabas run till 12 pm, garbage spreads, people consume alcohol in cars along the roads of the sector, steps/remedies on crime against women, business of Provincial Armed Constabulary Occupying the Community Center of (PAC) alpha 1 Due to non-availability of residents for routine works and CCTV cameras at intersections since last 3 years.
Residents also demanded a new police outpost in Alpha 2.
The meeting was presided over by NP Singh, President, District Development Residents Welfare Association (DDRWA) with DCP Katyayan as the chief guest along with his entire team including Mahendra Kumar (ACP), Anil Kumar (SHO), other staff and SHO knowledge. The park was organized in the community center of Sector Alpha 1.
The people of the district raised many problems in the meeting. DDRWA Vice President Jitendra Bhati said that there is a need to check illegal paying guest houses and students’ hostels running without verification in residential areas. “Various types of wrong activities are going on in the guise of students while landlords do not do proper verification of tenants in the greed of money. This often leads to law and order situation affecting the sector and the residential sector,” Bhati said.
Secondly, due to the many higher educational institutions in Greater Noida, foreign students stay in sectors without verification. “Many unpleasant activities keep happening around them where residents feel unsafe due to lack of verification,” Bhati said.
In addition, residents said that hotels and dhabas continue to operate in the sector’s market area till 12:00 midnight. “It affects the security of the sector. We demand that the time to close the market should be fixed.
While DCP Katyayan assured to increase patrolling of residential areas in the district and directed the outpost in-charge of the area to conduct vendor and tenant verification under their areas/areas, as the Sector Alpha 1 community center is occupied by the PAC, he asked the residents Assured of a solution to the problem soon. “I understand that residents need a community center for their local wedding ceremonies and other celebrations. It has been almost 3 years since PAC occupied the community center. I will talk to the local authority and will soon locate a different location with their help for their transfer,” said Katyayan.
