Belagavi: Governor of Karnataka Thawar Chand Gehlot Calling upon the youth to build a ‘United and Greater India’ while fulfilling the constitutional duties.
He spoke to the students during the convocation Rani Chennamma University (RCU) at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday. “We have to take bold steps to bring back the honor of our motherland which is Vishwa Guru,” he told.
Gehlot told the main objective Education Knowledge is gaining and education will facilitate holistic development. The Governor said that education would also play a major role in learning new discoveries.
Speaking about the role of educational institutions, the Governor said, “Institutions have helped in developing the inclination towards self-employment, thus joining hands in the progress of the nation.”
He said: “Higher education is vital for nurturing self-reliance among the youth for building a sustainable India. After completing education, students should develop respect for the nation and society to lead a good life.”
In the new Rani Chennamma University campus, Gehlot Ordered the state government to set up the campus in 127 acres which should be allotted to it at the earliest.
Rani Chennamma University awarded 10 gold medals and 86 Ph.Ds to graduate students and researchers.
Three eminent personalities were awarded honorary degrees during the programme.
Padma Shri Dr. Sudarshan Ballal was awarded Doctor of Science, litterateur Vadiraj Deshpande and Padma Shri Pandit Rajiv Taranath with Doctor of Letters.
