Lufthansa in India: Keeping up with its strong presence in India, German airline Lufthansa on Thursday announced the launch of two new routes: Frankfurt to Hyderabad and Munich to Bangalore.

The first flight on the new Munich-Bangalore route is scheduled for November 3, 2023 and will operate three times per week. Frankfurt-Hyderabad will start flights this coming winter and both of these flights represent the first new routes in Asia Pacific for the group.

The development highlights Lufthansa’s long-term objective to increase its market share in India by serving the growing number of young working professionals in the country, according to a statement by the airline.

The brand seeks to make the best of India’s untapped growth opportunity – especially in the post-Covid era – by offering consumers the most premium travel experience during their international travels, be it for business or leisure. With more than 50 weekly services to India, the Lufthansa Group’s tradition in India is almost a century old, and these new routes will strengthen its position as the leading European airline group in the subcontinent, the airline said.

Lufthansa Group is an aviation conglomerate with operations worldwide. With 1,09,509 employees, the group is expected to generate revenue of EUR32,770 million in FY2022.

Delhi-bound Lufthansa flight returns to Frankfurt after technical glitch

Earlier on April 15, a Delhi-bound Lufthansa flight returned to Frankfurt after being airborne for nearly two hours due to a hydraulic system problem. Flight LH-0760 from Frankfurt to Delhi was being operated by Boeing 747-400 aircraft.

According to a passenger, the captain announced that after being in the air for about two hours, the plane was being towed back to Frankfurt for hydraulic system care. from Frankfurt at around 2.20 pm (local time).
