Ghulam Nabi Azad ‘will not join BJP’, will soon form a party in Jammu and Kashmir

New Delhi Senior political leader Ghulam Nabi Azad on Friday 26 August resigned from the Indian National Congress. The former Congress leader said he would visit Jammu and Kashmir “soon” to form his own party. Azad denied any plans to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Azad, who is present in the national capital, said that he would soon visit Jammu and Kashmir to meet his supporters and the people there.

After sending his resignation to Congress President Sonia Gandhi, he told TV channels, “I will be visiting Jammu and Kashmir soon.”

“I will soon set up my organization in Jammu and Kashmir. I will not join the BJP,” he said.

In his five-page resignation letter, Azad has also said that he and his allies will remain determined to uphold the ideals they have devoted their entire adult lives outside the formal confines of the Congress.

In a letter to Sonia Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azadi He said, “Unfortunately after the entry of Mr. Rahul Gandhi into politics and especially after January 2013 when he was appointed by you as the Vice-President, the entire consultative machinery that existed earlier by him was dismantled. was.”

“All senior and experienced leaders were sidelined and a new circle of inexperienced sycophants started running the affairs of the party,” Ghulam Nabi Azad said in the letter.

Azad ended his five-decade association with the Congress, widely dismantled the party and slammed Rahul Gandhi for “dismantling” his entire advisory apparatus.
