Frankfurt: A global dirty money watchdog said on Friday it is placing Pakistan on its “grey list” of countries under surveillance, but said visits to the site to verify its progress on combating terrorism financing After that it can be removed.
Financial Action Task Force (FATF) said that Pakistan has substantially completed its two action plans covering 34 items.
But it said it had conducted a site visit to verify that the reforms had begun and were continuing, as well as the political commitment needed to maintain the reform in the future.
“Pakistan is not being removed from the gray list today. If the country successfully passes the onsite tour, it will be removed from the list,” FATF President Marcus Pleier told a news conference.
