Gold rose by Rs 182; Silver fell by Rs 178
According to HDFC Securities, gold prices rose by Rs 182 to Rs 47,023 per 10 grams in the national capital on Monday, in line with the rise in precious metal prices internationally and depreciation of the rupee. The precious metal had closed at Rs 46,841 per 10 grams in the previous trade.
Conversely, silver fell by Rs 178 to Rs 64,721 per kg from Rs 64,899 per kg in the previous trade.
The Indian rupee on Monday ended 18 paise lower at 75.08 against the US dollar. In the international market, gold was trading higher at USD 1,800 an ounce and silver at USD 24.48 an ounce.
HDFC Securities Senior Analyst (Commodities) Tapan Patel said, “Spot gold was trading 0.40 per cent higher at $1,800 an ounce on COMEX on Monday.”
