Zohra Sehgal She is one of the first female Indian actors to achieve a truly international profile, with roles in films such as ‘Bhaji on the Beach’ (1993) and ‘Bend It Like Beckham’ (2002). He was born on April 27, 1912 in Uttar Pradesh. Some of his notable works were for the serial ‘Neighbors’ (1977), the British docu-drama ‘Courtesons of Bombay’ (1983) and the Asian comedy series ‘Tandoori Nights’ (1985–87). Zohra Sehgal was also a choreographer and founded her own dance academy with her husband, Johrash Dance Institute. The actress also worked as a stage artist in Prithviraj Kapoor’s theater for 14 years. His most recent work includes films like ‘chinese kumo‘ (2007) in which she played the role of mother Amitabh Bachchan and ‘Saawariya’ (2007) which was his last film. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1998 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2010. On his 100th birthday, his first official biography, ‘Zohra Sehgal: Fatty’, was released by his daughter Kiran Sehgal. Zohra Sehgal passed away on 10 July 2014 after suffering from an illness cardiac arrest, She was 102 years old at that time.
