Surat: Staff of two private airlines and a passenger helped Labour Woman turns her tears and worries into smiles and feels great relief city airport on Friday.
The woman had lost hope of seeing her mother’s face for the last time. Sutapa, 21, was going to Kolkata with her laborer husband Subrata and one-year-old girl Sneha.
Residents of Kadodara, the family’s worries began when they failed to report on time at the Surat airport to catch an Air India flight to Kolkata on Friday evening. They reached the airport late due to heavy traffic on city roads.
Sachin Pillai said, “When I and IndiGo’s station manager Mohammad Anisur saw her, the woman was crying incessantly at the entry point. We inquired and found out that Sutapa’s mother had died and she could only see her face. when he reaches his village by morning.” SpiceJet’s station manager.
Soon, Pillai and Anisur start exploring options to help the family reach Kolkata. Anisur said, “Initially, we were planning to send them to Kolkata via Mumbai as it was cost-effective. We started collecting contributions from our colleagues to help them buy tickets as they did not have any money. ”
Subrata had already spent money to buy tickets to Kolkata and the family had no money to buy tickets again. Therefore, Pillai and Anisur sought help from their associates.
Meanwhile, Rohan Dharmani, a traveler going to Jaipur, saw this. He offered to buy a ticket from New Delhi and paid for it. The money collected by Pillai and Anisur, which amounted to around Rs 9,000, was given to the family for any emergency expenses.
The family later took a flight to Delhi in the night and reached Kolkata in the morning. “He called in the morning after reaching home to say thank you. He attended the cremation,” said Sachin Pillai,
