Google Docs to get emoji reactions soon: What this means for users – Times of India

After Instagram, Messenger, iMessage and more, Google Google is bringing React Emoji to Docs. As announced by Google in a blog post, google docs Users will soon be able to leave emoji reactions in documents. Currently, Google docs Allows you to add a comment to any document. Emoji reactions will work in much the same way.
According to the GIF shared in the Google blog, users will now be able to see a new emoji button on the right side of the screen when they select a word or a passage. The emoji button will open an emoji picker with a search bar and a separate section for frequently used emojis, According to the company, the emoji set has been updated to the latest version (Emoji 14.0), which reflects the latest emoji set with options to accurately reflect your wishes.
The new emoji panel in Google Docs will also have gender-neutral options for gender-changeable emoji. The company has also specified that emoji skin tone and gender preferences are saved per person in the emoji. It is worth noting that the emoji reaction feature will be enabled by default and cannot be disabled by the user. Additionally, emoji preferences are shared with Google Chat, so any preferences set in one app will be reflected in another. Both the apps can be used to update the emoji preferences through the picker.
The new feature will only be available for Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard and Enterprise Plus users in the coming weeks.
Apart from this, Google is also planning to roll out new features to improve the writing quality. The company has added comprehensive tips to the docs when writing an article. As part of the new additions, Google Docs will now show suggestions for alternative words, using the active voice, making sentence structure more concise, using more inclusive language, and using potentially inappropriate words.
