Photos app has secure locker privacy feature
Photo app is offering locker folder private feature to secure important photos.
Google is reportedly planning to add cloud backup support to ‘locked folders’ of its photo sharing and storage service ‘Google Photos’.
The new feature has been discovered in a hidden Settings page in the latest version of the app, reports Android Central.
With the new capability, users will get a way to back up images and videos saved in locked folders.
Introduced in 2021, the space is meant to keep sensitive photos out of users’ main camera roll.
The report states that currently, photos and videos locked behind folders are not recoverable after users factory reset the phone or uninstalled the Photos application.
In September last year, a report mentioned that several Google Photos users complained that their old photos had been “corrupted”.
People started noticing that his photographs over the years (more than about five years) had lines and deep cracks.
Meanwhile, Google last year also added new filters to Google Photos to help users show their skin in its true shade.
