To promote 5G indigenous technology, DoT had in March 2018 approved a multi-institution collaborative project to set up 5G test beds at a total cost of Rs 224 crore. “Another effort that we have made in the recent past is setting up a 5G test bed. We expect to roll out this 5G test bed in early January, which will help SMEs and other segments of the industries working together. Will enable them to come on the platform and test their solution. Currently, DoT has allotted spectrum to Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea and MTNL for 5G trials.
