Lucknow : Section Officer in charge Bapu Bhavan A woman contractual employee was arrested on Thursday from Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, for sexually harassing her at the workplace and threatening to sack her from service.
Ichharam Yadav He was arrested from his residence in Golf City.
The survivor worked as a computer operator in the office where the accused works.
Yadav was booked on October 29 and arrested after a video went viral on social media in which he was seen sexually assaulting the woman.
According to the survivor, he had joined the job in 2013 on contract basis in the office.
The accused was harassing her since 2018.
“He had an evil plan in mind for me and since I’ve been working there, I’ve read it through my senses. I kept quiet and kept away from his loving steps towards me for fear of losing my job. He Used to make lewd comments on me,” he alleged in his FIR.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Central Zone Raghavendra Mishra said that Ichharam was arrested on charges of sexual harassment, singing obscene songs or speaking such words amid criminal intimidation.
“We had registered the case on October 29 and the matter was being probed,” Mishra said.
