Former MLA and Congress leader JR Lobo on Thursday accused the government of failing to maintain law and order in the state.
He told reporters here that the recent disintegration of a party in a pub, two murders in Sulia taluk and other such incidents show that the government is unable to ensure the safety of citizens. They also show that the perpetrators of crime have no fear of the law.
Such incidents will seriously tarnish the image of Sri Lobo Dakshina Kannada, which is known as a center of education, health care and tourism. He said that even the industries and organizations of the district have no security.
Meanwhile, a Congress delegation led by former MLC Ivan D’Souza met and consoled the members of the killer Praveen Nettaru.
Mr D’Souza demanded payment of the maximum amount of compensation to Praveen’s family as well as Masood, who was murdered a few days back.
