Highlighting more details on the courses, it said, “According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, approval for setting up of a Remote Pilot Training Organization (RPTO) is granted as per Rule 39. freebies Rules, 2021. Any person who wishes to obtain authorization to set up an RPTO will have to submit an application to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on the online Digital Sky platform.”

If the applicant fulfills the specified requirements, the Director General may issue authorization to set up an RPTO within sixty days from the date of receipt of the application. DGCA has specified a five day course for grant of Remote Pilot Certificate by RPTO authorized by DGCA. “The curriculum includes on-the-ground classes and practical training. As on 2nd August 2022, there are 27 DGCA authorized RPTOs. So far 576 Remote Pilot Certificates have been issued.”
Notifying the additional details, the release said, “Government has started short term course named “Drone Service Technician” in 126 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in 19 states of the country for the session 2022-23. Details in Annexure Enclosed. -2. Training under Government ITI and PMKVY courses etc. is free, while there are other paid courses also.”
