Government’s issues letters with the intention of Starlink for SATCOM services

New Delhi, May 7 (PTI) Government has issued a letter of intention to Starlink for SATCOM Services, sources said on Wednesday.

Starlink is a satellite internet service developed by Spacex – American aerospace manufacturer and space transport company was established in 2002 by the world’s richest man Elon Musk. It provides high speed, low-oppression broadband internet using satellite technology.

Sources told PTI that the Telecom Department (DOT) has now issued a letter of introduction to Starlink. Earlier, the government had issued licenses to Eultsat Onweeb and Jio satellite communication.

Unlike traditional satellite services, which rely on distant gectal satellites, Starlinks uses the world’s largest low Earth or Leo Nakshatra (550 km above Earth). This planetarium of Leo satellites (7,000 is now but eventually ready to grow more than 40,000) and its trap enables the broadband internet to support streaming, online gaming and video calls.
