Govt gets 3 names to choose as Principal Secretary to Bengal Governor

A senior bureaucrat said on Monday that after the removal of Nandini Chakraborty as Principal Secretary to Governor Dr CV Anand Bose, the West Bengal government has proposed three names for the post.

For the post of Principal Secretary, the names of Additional Chief Secretary Atri Bhattacharya, Principal Secretary Barun Kumar Ray and Principal Secretary Ajit Ranjan Bardhan have been sent to the Raj Bhavan for consideration.

“We have sent the names of three IAS officers for consideration for the post of principal secretary to the governor,” the bureaucrat said. Now it is the turn to choose the Raj Bhavan. PTI,

According to a top Raj Bhavan source, the governor will inform the state government about his choice in a day or two.

Earlier, the governor had relieved Ms Chakraborty of her duties as principal secretary to Bose’s predecessor, Governor La Ganesan, on August 18, 2022.

Ms Chakraborty, a 1994 batch IAS officer from the West Bengal cadre, was removed from the state’s tourism department.
