However, according to an official statement, the significance of the event extended beyond the racetrack, as it highlighted India’s leadership in energy transition and decarbonisation.
To reduce the carbon footprint of the event, the Greenco Hyderabad E-Prix incorporated several sustainability initiatives. As part of the green initiative and awareness of decarbonization, Sacha Fenestraz and Norman Nato, drivers of the Nissan Formula E team, visited Greenco’s Integrated Renewable Energy Project (IREP) in Kurnool.
The Greenco Group has a massive renewable energy project in Kurnool with solar, wind and pumped storage capabilities to provide energy to power the racing event.
Greenco has a renewable energy capacity of 7.5 GW and a presence in 15 states of India.
