Gujarat: Manish Sisodia accepts state BJP president’s offer to visit schools

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia on Thursday accepted Gujarat BJP president CR Patil’s offer to visit government schools in the state, while Patil was asked to come to Delhi later to visit government schools. Extended similar offering.

Sisodia, however, was happy that education has become an agenda for political parties and expected the state BJP chief to take a U-turn on the issue.

Addressing a press conference on the issue, Sisodia said, “BJP Gujarat President CR Patil has invited me to visit government schools in the state and see the facilities there. I accept his invitation and want to. I hope he decides the date of our visit soon. We will start from the assembly constituency of Gujarat Education Minister Jitubhai Vaghani and then move on to visit other government schools in the state.”

Inviting him to visit schools in Delhi, Sisodia said, “I would like to invite him to come to Delhi and visit our schools as well. I am happy that education is now the agenda of political discussion in Gujarat. I hope that He (Patil) will not back down from his statement and will fix a date soon to show me the government schools in Gujarat.”

Sisodia’s statement came as a reaction to the state BJP chief accusing Aam Aadmi Party leaders of misleading the people and offering them to look into the level of education in the state.

He said, “Some people come here and try to mislead the citizens by promising to provide very good education. They are invited to come and see here once. They will learn about their shortcomings and look at Surat. Will also look at the level of education in the Municipal Corporation and Gujarat,”

Sisodia, however, claimed that at the current pace of development, the BJP would take 15,000 years to repair all the schools in the state.

He said, “Arvind Kejriwal ji has shown excellence in all government schools in Delhi in just five years. The people of Gujarat will no longer wait 15,000 years to improve the school. Patil ji’s invitation is accepted, we will definitely come. To see his school, first of all, we will go to your education minister’s meeting to see the school.”

Sisodia also shared pictures from his last visit to schools in Gujarat, including the schools in the constituency of the Gujarat Education Minister.

The Aam Aadmi Party is trying to establish itself in the state of Gujarat, which has been a two-party state ruled by the BJP for the past 27 years. New entrants to the states are taking an increasingly aggressive stand against the existing BJP policies and promising to change the system in the state.

In the field of education, AAP has promised free education for all, better school facilities, teacher recruitment, auditing of accounts of private schools and strict regulation of fees charged by them after coming to power in the state.
