New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Said on Saturday that there is a need to ensure that India’s unity is protected.
Addressing the Gurpurab celebrations at Gurdwara Lakhpat Sahib, Kutch Gujaratsaid the prime minister Guru Tegh BahadurThe bravery of the nation teaches how the country fights terrorism and religious extremism.
“Guru Tegh Bahadur’s valor against Aurangzeb teaches us how the country fights against terror and religious bigotry. Similarly, the life of the tenth Guru, Teacher Gobind Singh Sahib is also a living example of tenacity and sacrifice at every step.
“The contribution of our Gurus is not limited only to society and spirituality. It is the great penance of the Sikh Gurus, that the faith and integrity of our nation is protected today. Guru Nanaki Dev ji and our various gurus not only kept the consciousness of India ignited but also paved the way to keep India safe.”

Referring to his US visit, the Prime Minister said that his government has brought back more than 150 historical objects, including a peshkabza (short sword) on which the name of Guru Hargobind ji is written in Persian from America.
The Prime Minister also said that the countrymen were wishing for easy access to Kartarpur Sahib and in 2019, the Central Government completed the work of Kartarpur Corridor.
“Just recently, we have successfully and safely brought the Guru Granth Sahib to India from Afghanistan. What can be a greater experience of Guru’s grace? To spread the message of Guru Nanak Dev Ji across the country at every level. Efforts were made. The world with new energy. The decades-awaited Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, our government completed its construction in 2019,” he said.
PM Modi He said that it has always been a matter of pride for Gujarat that the fourth Gursikh Bhai Mokhmi Singh ji Those who played an important role in the establishment of Khalsa Panth belonged to the state.
PM Modi further said, “In 2021 we are celebrating 400 years of the Prakash Utsav of Guru Tegh Bahadur ji, you must have seen that we were successful in bringing copies of Guru Granth Sahib from Afghanistan.”

“From Kashmir to Kanyakumari and Kutch to Kohima, the whole country is dreaming together, striving together for its achievement. Today the mantra of the country is – Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat. Today the country’s goal is – a new Revival of Saksham Bharat. Today the policy of the country is – Service to every poor, priority to every deprived.
Remembering former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary today, PM Modi said, “Atal ji had a special attachment to Kutch. Atal ji and his government stood by Gujarat in the development work done here after the earthquake.”
Every year from 23rd December to 25th December the Sikh Sangat of Gujarat celebrates the Gurpurab of Guru Nanak Dev Ji at Gurdwara Lakhpat Sahib.
During his journey Guru Nanak Dev stayed at Lakhpat. Gurdwara Lakhpat Sahib houses his relics which include wooden shoes and palanquins (cradles) as well as Gurmukhi manuscripts and scripts of signs.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Gurudwara was damaged during the 2001 earthquake.
“The then Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi had made immediate efforts to ensure repair of the damages,” the PMO said.
