Halle Berry served old Hollywood glamour with a dash of Gaurav Gupta’s signature sculptural drama at the Chopard Universe Dinner in Cannes.

Ahead of the Cannes Film Festival 2025, jury member and actor Halle Berry had mentioned that she had to ditch a Gaurav Gupta ensemble for the red carpet because of the dress code. The new dress code prohibited stars from nudity and wearing overly extravagant outfits, those with long trains and volume, on the red carpet. While Halle could not wear it on the red carpet, she decided to wear a Gaurav Gupta ensemble for the Chopard Universe Dinner that took place at the prestigious film festival.
Taking to his Instagram, ace designer Gaurav Gupta shared a series of pictures of Halle Berry looking mesmerising in a maroon gown. The maroon gown was a signature Gaurav Gupta creation as it was not only bold and dramatic, but it also came with a structured silhouette. Sharing the picture, he wrote, “Halle Berry at the 78th Cannes Film Festival for the Chopard Universe Dinner.”

Halle opted for a maroon sculptural couture gown from Gaurav Gupta’s fall 2024 ’Jyotirgamaya’ collection. The strapless gown came with a structured bodice. With a scooped sweetheart neckline, the structured bodice graduated into a fitted skirt. At the waist, the gown was adorned with a statement 3D floral rosette that cascaded into a voluminous train with petal-like curls. Crafted in silk satin, the gown embodied sensuality, power, and motion.
Styled by Maryam Malakpour, Halle slipped into a pair of pointed-toe heels. For the jewellery, she wore a red dangler-style statement earring. She also wore two rings adorned with rubies on her fingers. The actor channelled old Hollywood glamour with her makeup and hair. She styled her hair into a wavy bob. She kept her makeup simple and minimal and let her outfit do all the talking.
