Last year, Hansal Mehta announced his next directorial venture titled ‘Faraaz’, a strong action-thriller depicting the Holi Artisan Cafe attack that shook Bangladesh in July 2016.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar, the film traces the events that took place in Dhaka on the night of July 1, 2016, where five young extremists ransacked an expensive cafe and held over 50 people hostage for nearly 12 horrific hours.

Actor Rajkummar Rao congratulated the ‘Scam 1992’ director on his Instagram and wrote, “#BFI London Film Festival Congratulations sir. Can’t wait to see this #Faraaz.”

‘Faraaz’ is the debut film of actor Zahaan Kapoor and also stars Paresh Rawal’s son Aditya Rawal in a lead role.

Earlier, talking about the film, Hansal said, ‘Faraaz’ is a story of deep humanity and its ultimate victory in the face of violent adversities. While it is based on true events, it is also a deeply personal story that I have held close to my heart for almost three years. (ANI)
