India’s new Test number 3 Hanuma Viharai and Bengal captain Abhimanyu Easwaran are among the 7 players from the country who will be part of the Dhaka Premier League ODI tournament.
The DPL one-day tournament opportunity comes in a free window for domestic Indian cricketers who were not selected for IPL 2022 from March 26, news agency PTI reported.
Parvez Rasool (Sheikh Jamal Dhanmandi), Baba Aparajit (Rupganj Tigers), Ashok Menaria (Khelaghar), Chirag Jani (Legends of Roopganj) and Gurinder Singh (Ghazi Group of Cricketers) are the other Indian cricketers who appeared in the 11-team competition. Huh. ,
Fresh from being involved in India’s 2-0 sweep over Sri Lanka, Hanuma has signed with Abahani Limited and is expected to join them after a short break in Hyderabad. Both Vihari and Easwaran have played in the tournament before along with Rasool, Menaria and Aparajith.
Ishwaran happy with the opportunity
Bengal captain Abhimanyu, on the other hand, was back at Prime Bank Cricket Club for his third season after 2017 and 2019.
It is an invitational tournament and Abhimanyu on Monday got BCCI nod to travel to Dhaka for the one-and-a-half month long tournament.
Abhimanyu scored 30 runs in his 50-run win over City Club in his opening match at Savar on Tuesday.
“It gives me a chance to play more games and face a variety of quality bowling attacks,” Abhimanyu told the agency from Dhaka.
