Hanuman Chalisa controversy: MP Navneet Rana, MLA husband Ravi got bail

Maharashtra MP Navneet Rana and her MLA husband Ravi Rana have been granted bail in a sedition case registered against them for allegedly “attempting to incite communal violence by reciting Hanuman Chalisa in front of CM Uddhav Thackeray’s house”.

The bail was given on a bond of Rs 50,000 with one or more sureties of equal amount. The court warned the couple against tampering with evidence and committing a similar offence. It also forbade Rana from speaking to the media about the matter. The breach of these conditions will result in cancellation of bail.
