Haridwar hate speech case: Demand to release Yeti Narsimhanand, Wasim Rizvi raised in Prayagraj Dharma Sansad

The demand for the release of Swami Yeti Narasimhanand and former Waqf Board chairman Wasim Rizvi (aka Jitendra Tyagi) was raised at the ‘Saint Sammelan’ held in Prayagraj on Saturday. Both Yeti Narasimhanand and Wasim Rizvi were arrested in the Haridwar hate speech case.

In a ‘Saint Conference’ on Saturday, religious leaders demanded the release of Swami Yeti Narasimhanand and the former Waqf Board Chairman Waseem Rizvi (aka Jitendra Tyagi) Who was arrested last month for making provocative statements at a similar gathering in Haridwar.

The chief guest of the program was Shankaracharya Narendranand Saraswati. He said that Yeti Narasimhanand and Waseem Rizvi should be released within a month.

Shankaracharya Narendrananda Saraswati said that not doing so in a month would result in a “violent agitation”.

At the Prayagraj Sant Sammelan, the participants adopted three resolutions: First, they demanded that the Constitution be amended to declare India a ‘Hindu Rashtra’. Second, to make strict laws to discourage conversions and to give death penalty to those who convert.

The third resolution sought the unconditional release of Yeti Narasimhananda and Waseem Rizvi, who were accused of promoting enmity between different groups through their discourses at the Dharma Sansad in Uttarakhand.

According to reports, this meeting was called by the same people who organized the controversial Haridwar Dharma Sansad.

The event was initially advertised as a Dharma Sansad, but was later renamed as Sant Sammelan under pressure from the district administration.
