former India batsman Aakash Chopra feels Ravindra Jadeja There won’t be a powerful wicket-taker for the team during the T20 World Cup. Jadeja is part of India’s 15-man squad for the upcoming Asia Cup and is likely to feature in the T20 World Cup. Analyzing India’s spin-bowling options for the T20 World Cup, Chopra said Jadeja is a “complete package” and will definitely be in the playing XI. Chopra, however, said the all-rounder would struggle to pick up wickets at the marquee event to be held in Australia later this year.
“Ravindra Jadeja, as good as he is batting and fielding, he is a package and certainly looks to play in the XI, but he is not your wicket taker. So don’t expect him to start picking up suddenly. Will do it. Took a lot of wickets. The conditions are not going to suit his bowling in any case.” Chopra said in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel.
Chopra said Jadeja is a quality player but his numbers with the ball have not been impressive in recent times.
“If we look at his numbers, he has played seven matches since the T20 World Cup, has taken just four wickets, averages above 43 and economy is also close to 8.5 – it’s not great.
