Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds lashed Mumbai and its suburbs on Tuesday morning amid an ‘Orange’ alert issued by the India Meteorological Department. He said that no major water logging has been reported anywhere in the city so far.
An official of the civic body said that local trains are running normally on the Central Railway and Western Railway corridors. He said that the bus services of Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) have not been diverted anywhere.

A civic official said the eastern and western suburbs recorded 63.90 mm and 52.43 mm of rain, respectively, as against 22.12 mm and 12.76 mm the previous day.
