48 MLAs voted in favor of the confidence motion in the 81-member assembly.
Speaking during the one-day special session, Soren said the need for the trust vote was felt as the BJP was “attempting to destabilize democratically elected governments” in non-BJP ruled states, including Jharkhand.
He alleged that the BJP was trying to create a civil war-like situation in the country by instigating riots to win the elections.
Referring to the obstacles being presented to the state government, Soren said in the assembly, “The way obstacles are being presented to our government. We have three MLAs in Bengal. The responsibility of poaching (MLAs) is in Bengal.” Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma, They do not cooperate with the police going to those states to investigate it.”

He further said that as long as there is a United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government in the state, the BJP’s conspiracy will not succeed.
“They want to create an environment where two states are pitted against each other. They want to create an atmosphere of civil war and incite riots to win elections. As long as there is a UPA government, such plots will not last. There will be a political answer,” the Jharkhand CM said.
After some time the meeting was adjourned sine die.
On Sunday, the MLAs left for Ranchi after spending the day in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. Sources said 13 Congress MLAs and 18 JMM MLAs were among those who went to Raipur. Soren had met the MLAs last night at the Circuit House, where he had spent the night.
Notably, a political crisis erupted in Jharkhand when the BJP in a petition sought the disqualification of Soren from the assembly for holding an office of profit.
The BJP has sought the disqualification of Soren as an MLA, alleging that he had allotted himself a mining lease in 2021 during the state mining department.
In February this year, the BJP submitted a memorandum to state Governor Ramesh Bais, seeking disqualification of Soren from the House under Section 9(a) of the Representation of the People Act.
The Governor had referred the BJP’s complaint to the Election Commission and the Election Commission issued a notice to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader in May.
