Hero Motocorp The company has announced a price hike on its entire range of motorcycles and scooters with effect from January 4, 2022. In a press announcement, Hero MotoCorp has said that the price hike has been necessitated to partially offset the impact of continued rise in commodity prices. The company said that the prices of Hero motorcycles and scooters will be increased by up to Rs 2,000 and the quantum of increase will depend on the model and the market. In September 2021, Hero had announced yet another price hike in its range of motorcycles and scooters.

The new Hero XPulse 200 4Valve retains the same dimensions, but gets new dual-tone colors and graphics. The curb weight has increased by 1 kg and the seat height by 2 mm. XPulse 200 4 valve prices will also increase from January 2022.
The ever-increasing prices of motorcycles and scooters will be a disappointment for the two wheeler buyers, with the domestic Indian two wheeler industry yet to overcome the market challenges. While consumer interest has picked up in the festive season, 2021 overall has been a year filled with sluggish consumer demand. Just a few days back, Hero MotoCorp announced a nationwide Retail Finance Carnival offering customers exciting retail finance schemes through Hero MotoCorp’s financial partners. Attractive offers like zero downpayment, zero rate of interest and zero processing fee have been announced for customers till December 31, 2021.

In the period April to November 2021, Hero MotoCorp shipped over 33.60 lakh motorcycles and scooters, with a domestic sales volume of 31.63 lakh units. Overall sales volume during this period is still 11% lower than what Hero shipped in the same period a year ago. But Hero MotoCorp’s domestic market sales declined by 14 per cent in the same period.
