Harsh Mahajan, a former state cabinet minister and close aide of late former chief minister Virbhadra Singh, described the Congress as “blind, directionless and leaderless”. Himachal Congress is ruled by “mother-son” like Delhi.
Singh’s wife Pratibha Singh is currently the state Congress president and his son Vikramaditya Singh is the party MLA. There is nothing left in the Congress after the death of the former Chief Minister.
Union Commerce and Industry Minister and senior BJP leader Piyush Goyal was also present during this. Mahajan lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and affirmed that the Prime Minister has provided a “strong government”.
Piyush Goyal said, “BJP will create history in Himachal Pradesh by retaining power after elections due later this year. Mahajan was with Congress for more than four decades.”
Piyush Goyal welcomed Mahajan to the BJP and confirmed that the former Congress leader has held important positions in the previous Himachal governments and has maintained a clean image.
