The latest satellite imagery shows the magnitude of the destruction of Ukrainian cities facing Russian air strikes and artillery as the conflict in the pro-Western country enters its fourth week.

Images released by a private US company Maxar Technologies showed significant damage to residential homes, apartment buildings, shops in the port city of Mariupol. Ukraine’s waR.

New examples of airstrikes and artillery effects have also been observed in and around Kyiv. Damage to grocery stores, homes, residential buildings and other infrastructure could be seen in Hostomel, Moschun, Irpin and other towns in the northwest of the city. Irpin, a border suburb of Kyiv, has seen some fierce fighting since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

About 30 kilometers (20 mi) east of the capital and with troops facing heavy resistance, Russia’s offensive is largely stalled.

The Russian military is increasingly using soil reentry (BERM) to protect/hide its armored equipment deployments near Antonov Airport in Hostomel, as well as in and around Zdvyzhivka and Berestyanka , the images show.
