India centric product was launched by honda cars india As a family sedan and has become the best selling model of the automaker in the country, accounting for over 40 per cent of its sales. Since its launch, the car is now in its second generation and offers a wide variety of variants to the buyers. Interestingly, Honda India reports that there has been a tremendous change in customer preferences on fuel type and transmission in the last one year. Here is what the numbers show.

In its career spanning 9 years, Honda Amaze has proved to be a contemporary sedan and has been widely accepted by the Indian audience. It is offered in 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC engines with the option of both manual and CVT automatic transmissions. However, it is interesting to see here that the consumer preferences among fuel types have changed drastically over the years.
The first generation Amaze saw a major demand for the diesel variant with only 33 per cent buyers going for petrol in 2013. In 2018, Honda launched the second-tenth Amaze and registered a significant drop in diesel demand at 28 per cent. percent, while petrol went up to 72 percent.
