Nikki Yadav was allegedly murdered by her accomplice Sahil Gehlot with a charging cable.

A Delhi Police constable is among five people arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of a young woman found in the refrigerator of a restaurant last week. Nikki Yadav was allegedly murdered by her accomplice Sahil Gehlot with a charging cable. Police said Sahil’s father, two cousins and two friends helped him hatch the conspiracy and then hid the body in the fridge at the family’s restaurant. Sahil’s cousin Naveen, one of the accused, is a constable in the Delhi Police.
Police revealed this yesterday Nikki Yadav was married to the accused Since 2020, Sahil Gehlot’s family did not approve of the relationship and wanted to get rid of Nikki Yadav so that he could marry another woman.
A police officer told news agency PTI, “On several occasions, the accused persons persuaded him to drop Nikki Yadav and get him out of the way. They kept pressurizing him.”
Sahil’s family fixes his marriage with another woman in December 2022 and Nikki is kept in the dark.
Sahil Gehlot, 24, was strangled Nikki Yadav With a charging cable from another woman on her wedding day after a three-hour fight over the issue. Sahil had hidden the plan from Nikki Yadav to marry another woman.
Sahil along with other accused had planned to kill Nikki Yadav before the wedding day. The five arrested after the murder had helped in keeping the body of Sahil Gehlot in the fridge.
“They stuffed the body inside the fridge thinking that it would stay fresh and there would be no foul smell. No one would be able to suspect or detect anything unusual as everyone would be busy with the wedding for at least three days and afterwards They will dispose of his body later,” Delhi Police sources said.
Police recovered Nikki Yadav’s body on Tuesday, when many people in the country were celebrating Valentine’s Day.
This is the second incident of a girl being murdered allegedly by her live-in partner in Delhi. Last year, Shraddha Walker was murdered by her live-in partner Aftab Poonawalla, who cut her body into pieces and kept them in a refrigerator before dumping them across the city, police have said.
