Jacqueline Hernandez is reunited with her mother after 14 years.
A missing Florida teen was reunited with her mother at the US-Mexico border after being kidnapped 14 years ago. Their official reunion took place on Monday in Texas, although the two first met at the border last week. The mother and daughter were reunited after an alleged social media communication between them. Jacqueline Hernandez, 19, contacted her mother, Angelica Vance-Salgado, on Facebook earlier this month and told her that she was currently living in Mexico.

On September 2, 2021, Ms. Vance-Salgado told CPD that she was approached by a woman who claimed to be her lost daughter. He revealed that the woman had asked him to meet him at the point of entry into the US in Laredo, Texas on September 10, 2021.
Following this information, police forces in Florida and Texas and investigators from the Department of Homeland Security planned to “intercept” the meeting and verify Ms. Hernandez’s identity.
Within hours of the interception, officers verified documents provided by the various agencies involved and concluded that the Mexican woman was in fact Ms. Vance-Salgado’s missing daughter.
according to a BBC Reportedly, on December 22, 2007, six-year-old Ms. Hernández was allegedly abducted from her home in Claremont, Florida, by her father, Pablo Hernández.
In a press release issued on Facebook, users have expressed their love and concern for the mother and daughter. One user wrote, “Unbelievable and such an emotional story. So happy for the happy ending but can’t imagine the agony of all those years. Praying for the missing.”

One of the comments read, “Thanks for going the extra mile to make sure nothing is wrong and they are both safe.”
We are not surprised by the social media reactions. After all, who wouldn’t celebrate such a dramatic reunion?
