How ChatGPT helped this student get 94% in his exams without attending classes

OpenAI’s viral chatbot ChatGPT has been the subject of much debate since its launch in November last year. Now to fuel the debate, this student completed 12 weeks of studies using a chatbot in just 2-3 hours, resulting in 94 marks in his exam.

On the popular social media platform Reddit, a user with the handle u/151N shared the story recently. In the post, the user expressed his concern about the upcoming semester exams as he spent a lot of time inside his room instead of attending classes.

The innovative solution they came up with was to use chatgpt As a tutor to understand the major topics for the exam and focus your time on those specific topics.

By receiving a transcript of all his lectures, the student pasted it into ChatGPT and asked the chatbot to analyze the lectures and use its algorithms to decide the most relevant information for the upcoming exam.

However, the user ran into a minor problem during the process when the transcript proved too long for ChatGPT to analyze. To overcome this, u/151N used an online paraphrasing tool to summarize the text before submitting it once again to ChatGPT with the same request, and the chatbot did not disappoint.

On the first day of exam preparation, u/151n was able to list down important points from all the lectures and discussions held throughout the semester in just 4-5 hours.

On the second day of preparation, u/151N asked ChatGPT to find all the points marked as important in each lecture, using only the textbook and transcript of the course that the chatbot had summarized earlier. The user spent 4-5 hours that day ensuring that the information provided by ChatGPT was accurate.

A day before the exam, u/151N reviewed the study material provided by ChatGPT. As luck would have it, the next day’s test covered almost exactly the same material he had studied, resulting in a stellar score of 94.

Expressing surprise at the result, u/151N wrote, “I didn’t know it would work, I made an educational bet based on my position and intuition and it worked for me”

Furthermore, U/151N sees nothing wrong with using ChatGPT for exam preparation, comparing the chatbot to another human tutor, writing, “I didn’t cheat, I studied 72 times under the guidance of an AI.” Studied for hours what to study and I succeeded. It’s no different than being a tutor”
