Fighting between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Force (RSF) has been ongoing since April 15 in Sudan’s capital Khartoum and neighboring areas. On the first day of the war on Fatah, many planes were lost everyday. It was not possible to get the Indians out of that terminal. 72-hour ceasefire in Sudan
Ceasefire between the military and paramilitary in Sudan has been announced again for 72 hours after several ceasefire fires and violations. This announcement was made in the midst of continuous efforts by Saudi Arabia and America to stop the fighting.

Why is there conflict in Sudan?
There is a battle for supremacy between the military and the paramilitary in Sudan. First in 2019, people demonstrated to remove Sudan’s side-by-side President Omar al-Bashir from power. Then in April 2019, the army overthrew the president in a coup, but after that the people started demanding democratic rule and their role in the government. After this, a joint government was formed in Sudan, in which both the civilian and military of the country had a role. There was a coup here again in 2021 and military rule began in Sudan.

Struggle over deal to implement civilian rule
Army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan became the country’s president and RSF leader Mohammed Hamdan DagaloVP. Since then the conflict between the RSF and the army has continued. The military and the RSF are at loggerheads over a deal to enforce civilian rule.

How exactly did India talk to the fighting live in Sudan regarding safe passage for Indians? Muraleedharan, who answered this question, refused. The Union Minister said that India and Sudan share strong relations. It has played a good role in the rescue operation.

India’s strong ties with Sudan
Muraleedharan told NDTV, “I can certainly tell you that India shares a very strong development partnership with Sudan. So both countries and Indians living in Sudan were in touch.” Muraleedharan said that Saudi Arabia is filling up a lot of water in the evacuation effort.

Saudi Arabia is co-operating
He further informed, “A control room has been set up in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Indian communication aircraft have stopped at King Abdullah Air Base in Jeddah. They have been operating from there for the last four days. Certainly Saudi Arabian officials They are treating us very warmly, helping us with our care, food and immigration.”

Please tell that 362 Indians have reached Bangalore under ‘Operation Kaveri’. Brought to India from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. 360 Indians were brought home on Wednesday and 246 on Thursday. About 3500 Indians were present in Sudan. Of these, 1360 have been brought back.
