Katrina Kaif Re-created Raveena Tandon’s iconic song Tip Tip Barsa Pani for her latest film Sooryavanshi. The remake has received mixed response from the audience. While some believe that the new version is as good as the original, some believe that nothing can match the charm of Raveena. However, Raveena, who danced to this sensuous song in Mohra (1994), feels that Katrina has done a good job. The actress called up choreographer Farah Khan and congratulated her for the song.
“Raveena was the first to call me and said that the song looks great and Katrina looks great. Even Manish (Malhotra) was of the view that we move away from the original song sequences and They have made Katrina aisa ten lakh rupees. I don’t think anyone other than Katrina could have done justice to Tip Tip,” Farah told India Today.
When asked about fans criticizing the new version, Farah said, “I want to say why do you hate it for liking it? You’re getting two for the price of one. And you know, Rekha and Chinni Prakash, who did the original song, had their son assisting Rohit on this song. I kept telling him, ‘Call your father and I hope he doesn’t bother’, and he said, ‘No ‘My father loves you!’ So it was a big relief as I personally don’t like to remake songs.”
With its dazzling star cast (Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgan and Ranveer singh), action-packed story, and producer-director Rohit ShettyMidas touch, “Sooryavanshi” has hit the box-office, raking in Rs 50 crore in its first two days.
Though the film faced a slight drop in collections on Saturday, till Sunday, it was expected to bounce back with Rs 70-80 crore on Diwali weekend. The story is similar to Shetty’s 2017 film “Golmaal Again”.
