Here are 5 tips for baking cakes in cooker and kadhai:

1. Preheat the pot

Before making a cake, people usually preheat the oven. Similarly, pre-heat the cooker as well. This heats up the atmosphere inside the cooker, which makes the cake cook faster. For this you can keep pressure cooker or kadhai on medium flame for about 10 minutes.

2. Use Vinegar

Since you’re making the cake with a non-traditional utensil, the texture may be a little dense. So, to get rid of that condensation, you can add a little bit of vinegar to your batter. The vinegar helps to make the cake spongy and soft.

3. Always Grease the Tin

Grease the tin well before putting it in the pot. Greasing the container will make your cake come out easily. Otherwise the cake will stick to the bottom of the pan.

4. Do not whistle in the cooker

After placing the cake tin in the cooker, cover it with a lid. You don’t need to create pressure in the cooker, so remove the whistle. Whistling is required for some foods, but not for cakes. The goal here is to steam the cake and not create pressure.

5. Salt/Sand Trick

If you don’t have a stand to put the tin on, you can use sand or salt. Just sprinkle 2-3 cups of salt all over the cooker. There should be enough salt added to prevent the cake tin from reaching the bottom. Close the lid and bake your cake without any difficulty.
