celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar Shared a video explaining why our weight comes back after sustainable weight loss and resuming normal eating after diet. She said that we often make the mistake of cutting certain food groups out of our diets and once we reintroduce them, the weight comes right back. “A lot of people lose weight. Not even 20% of that population is able to lose weight,” Diwekar said in the video. According to celebrity nutritionist it may take 3 weeks to 2 months.
So, how should we go about losing weight sustainably in a healthy way? Is it possible to have a weight loss goal that is sustained over the long term and does not come back? Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar says that slow and steady weight loss is the right way to maintain it in the long run. He added that ideally, we should aim for 5 to 10% weight loss over a period of one year. So, if you weigh 70 kg, you should only try to lose 3.5 kg to 7 kg over a period of one year. This way, your weight loss will be healthy and won’t come back too easily even after you go off the diet.
