1. Use Wide Mouth Containers
Pickles are usually prepared in bulk. Therefore, you should opt for a large, wide-mouthed container. Secondly, the quantity of pickle should always be equal to the capacity of the container. While filling the pickle in the container, keep in mind that the pickle is filled from above so that the air present in the jar is released. Plus, the wide-mouth jars provide easy access to pickle jars, in which you can choose your favorite portion from the entire container of pickles.
2. Do not use metal lids and spoons
When choosing a container, make sure that the lid of the container should not be metal based. When vinegar-based pickles come into contact with metal, the metal corrodes and can affect the taste of the pickle. Also, make sure you are not scooping out the pickle with a metal-based spoon. Always choose a clean and dry wooden spoon to take out the pickle from the jar.
3. Sterilize the Jar
To sterilize the container, all you have to do is dip it in hot water and leave it for 10-12 minutes. Once done, take out the container; Put it upside down on a wooden frame for a few minutes. After that put the container on its side in the oven at 100 degrees for about 10-12 minutes. Your containers are now sterile. Please note: Always disinfect containers on the day you are going to use them. Do not sterilize them the day before.
