The cabinet also approved the repeal of the Himachal Pradesh Loktantra Prahari Samman Act, 2021 and the Himachal Pradesh Loktantra Prahari Samman Rules, 2022, which provide a monthly pension of Rs 11,000 per month to persons jailed during the Emergency.
The cabinet decided that the employees will also be brought under the ambit of General Provident Fund (GPF).
Employees who have retired after May 15, 2003 under the New Pension Scheme (NPS) will be given OPS from a tentative date. The decision will cost the state exchequer Rs 1,000 crore during the 2023-24 financial year.

In another important decision, the cabinet decided to include 780 ASHA workers under the National Health Mission (NHM) on incentive basis to provide affordable and reliable healthcare to the people.

The cabinet decided to give Rs 600 per student through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to all girls, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Below Poverty Line (BPL) boys in classes 1 to 8. . The Cabinet approved the leasing out of Toll Barriers under the Himachal Pradesh Toll Act, 1975 through auction cum tender process for the year 2023-24.
