The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is expected to be launched on August 4 and promises to bring several segment first features to the premium SUV space. Here are the top features of the Hyundai Tucson that you should pay attention to. The SUV has been on sale internationally for some time now, but with its entry in India, it will go up against the likes of Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 and Volkswagen Tiguan. Here is what sets it apart.

1. Level 2 Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS):
The 2022 Hyundai Tucson ADAS is loaded with a Level 2 suite of features. Hyundai calls it ‘SmartSense’ and it is the company’s first vehicle with ADAS capability in India. The SUV has safety nets on both the front and rear, which use radar and cameras on both sides to reduce dangerous situations.

The premium SUV offers blind spot collision avoidance and a safe exit warning system.

2. All-Wheel-Drive with Terrain Mode:
Another great feature of 2022 Tucson SUV The HTRAC is the all-wheel-drive system that powers the majority of Hyundai SUVs available in the international market. The system offers three terrain modes such as snow, sand and mud. The HTRAC system continuously monitors 50 vehicle inputs more than 100 times per second and delivers the required amount of torque to each wheel for maximum performance. It can also detect slippage and re-route power between the front and rear axles. It is capable of applying slight brake input to the left and right wheels to maintain optimum traction at all times.
3. Long-Wheel-Base NX4i Variants for India:
Hyundai is only bringing the NX4i, the LWB variant of the 2022 Tucson, to India. Hyundai claims that the 5-seater SUV will offer best in segment wheelbase of 2,755 mm, thereby increasing cabin space and second row legroom by 1,050 mm for the customers. Additionally, the second row will also have recline features and the front passenger seat will be electronically adjustable from the rear for added comfort.

4. Hyundai BlueLink Connectivity:
The 2022 Tucson will also have Hyundai’s BlueLink connectivity suite. BlueLink is an artificial intelligence based system that provides safety, security and convenience features like voice commands for operating multiple features of the vehicle. In total, Tucson’s BlueLink suite will have 60+ embedded voice commands embedded in the system, which do not rely on Internet connectivity to execute a command. These commands can be used to turn on the AC, open the sunroof of the vehicle, check tire pressure, and more. System enabled over-the-air (OTA) updates and continuous software upgrades and bug fixes.
5. Premium Interior:
The 2022 Tucson will have all the bells and whistles that customers have come to expect from a product in the premium SUV segment. It will offer a large 10.25-inch touchscreen, 360-degree camera, leather-wrapped ventilated seats, electronic parking brake, wireless charger, 8-speaker Bose audio system and a panoramic sunroof among other things.

6. Performance:
The premium SUV will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 2.0-litre petrol will generate 156 PS and 192 Nm and will be mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-litre diesel will generate 186 PS and 400 Nm and will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. There will be no manual transmission option available for now. Both the engines will be RDE compliant.
