Former Bihar chief minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) supremo Jitan Ram Manjhi on Monday disappointed with the alliance partners, BJP and JD(U) over the issue of seat-sharing in the MLC elections.
“The way BJP and JD(U) divided seats among themselves and did not consider any other alliance partner, it is disappointing for us. We and Mukesh Sahni’s VIPs are alliance partners in the current NDA government in Bihar. It is extremely unfortunate that they did not invite us for the meeting.”
“Whatever decision was taken in the meeting, it would have been satisfactory for us if it had been done in the presence of all the alliance partners,” he said. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I am feeling pain because they have not invited us. As far as HAM is concerned, we may not ask for any seats.
Earlier on Sunday, VIP chief Mukesh Sahni announced that his party would contest all the 24 seats in the MLC elections falling under the local bodies as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal-United (JD-U) did not give them any support. Seat was not given.
Sahni also alleged that the BJP stabbed him in the back. His leaders could kill him.
The seat-sharing between the BJP and the JD(U) took place on Saturday, with the BJP getting 13 and JD(U) 11.
BJP has given 1 seat to Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party from its own quota.
