Meanwhile, Lalthakima Ralte scored the only goal for his side as they went down to their seventh loss of the season.

TRAI suffered a critical injury early in the game when their captain Netrajit Singh fell on the ground with a calf injury in the third minute and sought medical attention. Both Trai and Aizawl relied on their defense to remain calm and deny the opponent any scoring chances.

Aizawl created the game’s first big chance in the 11th minute when full-back Lalfelkima put Bakhtiyar Kalandrov inside the box with a beautiful ball, but the captain’s header went over the bar.

Khangam had a chance to put his team forward four minutes later, but his indecision allowed Thakima Ralte to block the shot. The 24-year-old forward was given another chance to score but Anuj Kumar’s point-blank save in the 18th minute stopped him.

The People’s Club shed their first blood in the match after Thakima kept his side in the 25th minute. Samuel assisted him by setting him up with a peach of a delivery from the opposite half of the field.

TRAI stepped up their attacking game after breaking Aizawl’s deadlock and were soon rewarded for their efforts as Khannam scored the equalizer from his third attempt of the game, hitting the ball in the bottom right corner.

In the 38th minute, Fernandinho tried to push his team forward with a ball in the top left corner, but it went wide.

Khangam scored his second goal of the night three minutes later, giving TRAU the lead by colliding with Anuj Kumar with a sloppy touch and slamming the ball over the goal line as the goalkeeper proceeded to pick it up.

Aizawl made a double choice early in the second half as Ayush Chhetri and Lalfelkima went out to make way for F Lalremsanga and Melori Laldinsanga. Vanleighenga received his first yellow card of the game in the 47th minute for a tackle from his opponent, and Josef Olale of Trai was booked for a similar offense two minutes later.

Joseph had a chance to give his team a two-goal lead, but missed the target. As the game progressed, TRAI sought to play possession-based football while waiting for opportunities to present itself.

Aizawl named another round of substitutions as F Lalliansanga and David Lalhlansanga departed, while Dipanda Dicka and Willis Plaza were grounded.

Aizawl won a free kick just outside the box in the 71st minute but Samuel failed to convert the shot.

Salaam Johnson Singh and Milan Singh Laishram were called in as Trai made a double substitution at the end of the second half, while Khangam and Kishan Singh Chongtham were out. He made another substitution in the 82nd minute in which Lalthakima Ralte went out to make way for R Malasawmatlunga.

As the game neared the end of the second half and stoppage time went into place, both teams increased their intensity, Aizawl looking for an equalizer and Trai chased down their third goal of the night. However, his efforts were not enough to turn the score around as TRAI registered its third win of the season.
