Several minor roles later, his second film as a hero, no wayArrives in theaters on April 22. “I got offers after Couple Muthalali, But I didn’t have the firm belief to play any of those roles. I thought it would not bode well for the director or the producer. Besides, I had more things on my plate. but in the case of no way, I thought I could pull it off and it would benefit my career too,” says Ramesh.
The film, a “survival thriller” directed by debutant Nitin Devidas, discusses suicide through Ramesh’s character David, an NRI who invests in a business after returning home. “But his calculations go wrong when the pandemic breaks out and the nation shuts down. The theme would have worked even if there was no lockdown. “Our calculations can often be wrong, especially when it comes to money management. In David’s case it is just that it was the lockdown that landed him in the soup. ,
challenging role
Ramesh insisted that the role was physically and emotionally exhausting for him as an actor. “I could handle the physical stress. But the entire mood on the sets was not happy due to the theme of the film. There was an important scene which I had to shoot for 18 days. It left me dry,” he says.
There were no acting lessons or workshops prior to shooting. “We took the doctor’s opinion to understand the character’s mind. But there was no reference point for recovering feelings because you never know what people do when they feel there is no hope. I did what the situation and the script demanded,” he says.
The film was shot over 25 days and most of the action takes place in the room where David is carrying out his plan.

Ramesh explains that though the actor in him was excited to play the role, it was not a pre-planned move. “It wasn’t like I was waiting to do something like this; It never works like that in the cinema. It takes time for things to heal. I am glad that people have appreciated the trailer. But then no one would release a bad trailer, would they? So let people watch it in cinemas and then pass the verdict.”
So do you expect to get more such soulful roles in the future? “I have no such expectations! Let things happen on their own,” he replies.
artistic pursuit
But he “makes a conscious effort to try something new as an artist”, whether on stage or on television. “If I can’t do that, I don’t take that show, even if it means losing a decent remuneration. This has happened when I had to perform at two film award shows in a row and I couldn’t come up with new material.” , ”he says.
Meanwhile, his production house has an interesting array of material. Bale Bheshoa celebrity chat show, and petflixA show on pets is on Youtube. fun once in a whileAmrita is a stand-up comedy show on TV. “I see it as an opportunity to interact with new people. YouTube pages are not meant to generate income. For stand-ups, I take it to the next level through stage shows or events featuring these artists.” I want to,” he added.
