Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Shahbaz said, “I request the Chief Justice of Pakistan to form a full court commission including senior and junior judges. Chief Justice (Omar Atta) Bandiyal, I request you to set up a full court commission. I will also send you a letter for the same, and I hope you will consider this request. If you do not consider my request then such allegations will come up again.

“The federal government will also fully cooperate with the commission and wholeheartedly accept its findings,” he added.

“If Khan gives evidence that I or the interior minister or military officials were involved in the conspiracy, I will not be prime minister for a minute. I will resign,” he said.

Responding to Khan’s allegations against the unnamed military officer, Shahbaz said the PTI chief was “attacking the Pakistani Army like an enemy”.

Shahbaz said that Khan is a “head to toe liar” and is trying his best to destroy Pakistan.

“You [Imran Khan] Pushing the country towards destruction through lies.. It is my responsibility to save the nation from this destruction,” he said.

On the delay in registering the FIR of the attack, Shahbaz said Khan’s party PTI is in power in Punjab province and the provincial government should explain why an FIR for attempt to murder has not been registered yet.

The Pakistan Army said in a statement that the baseless and irresponsible allegations made by Khan against the institution and in particular a senior military officer are completely unacceptable and unwarranted.
